Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated headquartered in Cambridge, MA has entered into a long term agreement with Boston Wireless to implement a ShoreTel Unified Communications solution for their USA and International offices. Vertex has experienced recent growth upon announcements of FDA stage approvals for drugs targeting Cystic Fibrosis and Hepatitis C, and is currently involved in the largest construction project in the country, a new headquarters on Boston’s waterfront targeted for completion in 2014. The ShoreTel solution was chosen for its brilliantly simple architecture and ease of use and management. The solution will encompass multiple sites and applications to address the need for redundancy and a resilient business continuity plan. Boston Wireless began the implementation in the spring of 2011 by providing IP565g color screen telephones with plans to deploy more than 4,000 endpoints. Applications such as 911 Enable and Contact Center will allow the Vertex worldwide campus to utilize a unified safety strategy and call center functions.
